メールボックスを整理してたら、
数年前に知人から受け取ったチェーンメールを見つけた。
そうやね、時間の大事さ、ちゃんと忘れないようにしないと。
今日は二度とこない。
会いたい人には今会っとかないと。
やりたいことは今やっとかないと。
明日でいいや、明日しよう、じゃダメなんだ…。

"The Present"

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day.
Every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to
use.
What would you do?
Draw out every cent, of course!
Each of us has such a bank.
Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes it off, as lost whatever of this you have failed
to invest for a good purpose.
It carries over no balance.
It allows no overdraft.
Each day it gives you more.
Each night it burns the day's deposits; the loss is yours.
There is no going back.
There is no drawing against "tomorrow".
You must live in the present on today's deposits.
Invest wisely, to get the utmost in health, happiness and success!
The clock is ticking.
Make the most of today.
To realise the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who repeated a
grade.
To realise the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
To realise the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly
newspaper.
To realise the value of ONE DAY, ask the daily wage labourer with
kids to feed.
To realise the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realise the value of ONE MINUTE, ask the man who missed his
train.
To realise the value of ONE SECOND, ask the person who just
avoided an accident.
To realise the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal at the Olympics.
Treasure every moment you have.
And treasure it more because you've shared it with someone
special: special enough to share your time.
And remember that time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.

That's why it's called "the present".

自分で訳したので、微妙なニュアンスが違ってたらごめんなさい。
訳す作業、15分位かかったのですが、結構楽しかった。
プロの人なら、この程度の簡単で短いもの、
２、３分で訳してしまいはるんやろうなぁ…。
